Defending champions Juventus defeated Genoa 2–1 in a thrilling match of the 10th round of the Italian League here on Wednesday night and again captured the top of the table. After this win, Juventus, who were in first place, have a total of 26 points. The second-placed Inter Milan has 25 points. This loss to Genea has moved him to 17th place with eight points.
According to the BBC, a total of three players received red cards during the match. One host team while two Genoa players were shown the red card.
The first half was very exciting and there was a tough competition between the two teams. In the 36th minute, the hosts attacked and defender Leonadre Bonucci scored from the header to give him an edge.
However, the visiting team managed to equalize with the first half ending. The only goal of the match for Genea was scored by Christian Koame in the 40th minute.
The second half started poorly for Genea. In the 51st minute, Francesco Cassata got his second yellow card and had to go off the field.
The problems of the visiting team increased when the referee showed a red card to Federico Marchetti in the 57th minute. Genoa, playing with nine players, however, kept the attack from Javuentas for much longer. Juventus midfielder Andre Rabio got the second yellow card in the 87th minute.
Ace looked like the hosts would have to be content with just one point, but in penalty time (96th minute) he got a penalty and Cristiano Ronaldo put the ball in the goal to ensure his team’s victory.
