BCCI announce 15-man Indian squad for ODI and T20I series against Australia

15 man Indian squad for the upcoming series against Australia is announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Men in Blue are scheduled to play 2 T20Is and 5 ODIs in the upcoming home series, which is starting from February 24.

The Defending World Champions Australia will start their visit to India by playing first T20I on Sunday, February 24 in Visakhapatnam. After the two match T20I series, India will host Australia for the first ODI on March 2 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

After being rested in last two ODIs and three T20Is against New Zealand, Indian skipper Virat Kohli will make his return to the side. Following a historic 2-1 win in Test series, Pacer Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the limited over matches against New Zealand. The fast bowler is also making his return to the side.

Wicketkeeper batsman and young sensation Rishabh Pant and opener KL Rahul have also been included in the squad. Umesh Yadav, who missed the limited over games against New Zealand will make his return to the team. Legspinner Mayank Markhande has been called up to the national side for first two T20Is.

All-rounder Vijay Shankar retains his place for the entire series. Siddharth Kaul made his debut against England last year, but failed to keep his spot in the side. With domestic performances to support his case the Pacer has managed to claim his spot in the side for the two T20Is and first couple of ODIs.

Dinesh Karthik has been rested for the five ODIs series. The other notable absentee is Bhubaneswar Kumar, who is rested for both T20Is and the first couple of ODIs. The likes of Khaleel Ahmed, Shubhman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj have been left out of the squad for the entire limited over series.
