IPL 2019: Watch – Virat Kohli Responds to Jasprit Bumrah’s Challenge

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Indian national team captain, Virat Kohli, has responded to star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s IPL 2019 challenge. Bumrah had recently challenged his national team skipper ahead of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 25-year-old claimed that he is still a few steps away from being the best bowler in the world. However, he would love to get the better of the best batsman in the world, his captain, Virat Kohli.

The Mumbai Indians pacer warned Virat that he should be vary of the danger that the pacer poses, because he will not be in his team, RCB. However, the recent advert ended with a puzzled look on 30-year-old batter.

Virat Kohli said in his response, “Cheeku Bhaiya! You will sledge your captain? (laughs). Finally, you have learned. But don’t expect any favours from Cheeku bhaiya”.

Going back to study a little bit of history, Jasprit Bumrah’s maiden wicket in the IPL was Virat Kohli himself. However, he has not been able to get the RCB captain out ever since. Kohli has a brilliant record against the pacer, scoring 99 runs off 66 balls against him.

Both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have made India proud on multiple occasions, with Virat Kohli undoubtedly being the best batsman in the world for quite a long time. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is also emerging as one of the best bowlers in the world.

Jasprit BumrahBumrah has picked up 63 wickets in just 61 IPL appearances, having an economy of 7.8 and bowling average of 28.61. He is known for his brilliant bowling with the new ball and wonderful death bowling towards the end of the innings with his picture-perfect yorkers.

Looking into Virat Kohli’s statistics, the Indian skipper has amassed 4948 runs in just 163 IPL games for RCB. However, RCB is yet to win their maiden IPL trophy, even after reaching the finals thrice.
