Yuvraj Singh is practicing hard for his return to action in this year’s Indian Premier League. The Punjab southpaw will be playing for the Mumbai franchise in this upcoming season.
During his training schedule with the new team, the left-handed all-rounder was seen attempting a famous shot. Recently, StumpMic Cricket has released a video where Yuvraj Singh is seen practising the helicopter shot. MS Dhoni is credited for making this shot very famous.
The 37-year old all-rounder was a superstar in limited over games. However, Yuvraj has lost his form in recent years, keeping him out of the Indian national side. The all-rounder was instrumental in India’s victory in 2007 ICC World T20 and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
With both runs and wickets under his belt, the all-rounder was adjudged Player of the tournament in ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. The man known for his explosive batting created history by hitting six sixes in an over against Staurt Broad during 2007 ICC World T20.
Also, it is no surprise that the 37-year old is a superstar in the Indian Premier League. However, Yuvraj’s form has dropped drastically in recent past years.
In the 128 matches that Yuvraj has played, the all-rounder has 2652 runs and 36 wickets under his belt. The left-handed all-rounder has 12 half-centuries and two hat-tricks in his IPL career.
Following a disastrous season with only 65 runs in 8 games, the Punjab franchise opted to release the 37-year old ahead of IPL 2019 auction. Mumbai Indians bought him for his base price, which is 1 Crore INR.
With only one half-century ( an individual score of 92) against Railways in the Vijay Hazare trophy, the superstar struggled yet again in the domestic season.
After the domestic season, Yuvraj Singh has started preparation for the upcoming IPL season. The 37-year old is ready to play for his new franchise Mumbai Indians.
