There is very little doubt over the fact that Hardik Pandya brings a lot more value with himself to the team. He is probably the all rounder that India was looking for ever since the great Kapil Dev left the game. Of Course, we are not comparing the two. He knows how to give stability to batting unit and also knows how to hit it hard when needed by the team. Now, talking about his bowling he has a good pace and knows how and when to deliver a slower one. Moreover, he is a great athlete and a catch gone to him is rarely missed.
But, recently, the young cricketer from Baroda was in big troubles as he was suspended from international cricket by the BCCI for his sexist comments on the popular celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan hosted by Karan Johar. Pandya was greatly criticized on all over the social media especially by the women. Alongside him was the Indian top order batsman KL Rahul who said nothing wrong which could offend anyone but just because he the part of that episode, he was suspended too and both of them were called from the Australian tour by the first available flight.
But, fortunately, his suspension was lifted and he was free to play for India in the first ODI against New Zealand. Now, one thing is clear. This man is talented and yes he knows how to make a comeback and that too a strong one. Skipper Kohli was really impressed by him and praised his efforts in the after match press conference.
“Hardik provides balance to the team. Today too he bowled good areas which showed he has worked on his skills. If you don’t respect the game, the game won’t respect you. I hope and believe that Hardik will come out as a better cricketer,” said the Indian skipper.
Now on his comeback, Kohli had some more words of appreciation.
“Good to have him back. He put his head down and focused on what he needed to do, you can tell from the way he bowled. He is someone who will make an important contribution overall. He is someone who provides a lot of balance to the team,” Kohli added.
